Take mental health as seriously as your physical health
Do a mental health audit
Basic tests for big issues, missing signs can be really costly
Take past trauma seriously, you don’t need to be “able to handle things”
Look for patterns in relationships, learn about your problematic patterns
Make a plan for things you’d like to work on
Prioritize this, think of this like going to the doctor
Get a good therapist
This is worth spending money on, you will get back months of time
Do your research on therapy styles, look or evidence based approaches
If you find your therapist isn’t working, try others
Educate yourself alongside therapy
Make use of the basic research e.g. meditation is good
Also try to figure out what you think is going on
Be aware of how your physical health affects your mental health
Consider issues many ambitious people face: ADHD, depression, anxiety
Burnout and overworking can be common for ambitious people
It’s okay for number of hours to vary with how excited I am
Picture a sustainability bar, red is OK but not forever
Micro-Breaks: Find activities that genuinely destress you
Try to have one day totally unplugged, it’s often worth it
ADHD is especially hard to spot in women
